ORIGINAL: Herr Monk
I sit down to do my work.... he's still talking to me [:'(] Won't stop! Showing me his new Neon Green Leathers that match his bike! I was about to crack!
(think I should race him? I figure if the distance is short enough I can take him, you know, the first 50 feet or so [])
His green leathers?...............you mean kinda like the black and orange that most harley riders are wearing
Race him? Sorry Monk, the only way you'd beat this kid, is if his battery dies
lets see that dude go cross country in comfort. He'll need traction after a solid day of riding. BTW I enjoy McDonalds Premium roast versus Starbucks. Starbucks taste overroasted and is over priced
The next time the elf asks you to race, just keep asking him questions that start with "why." Pretty soon, he'll realize just how ridiculous his proposition is. If you're lucky, he'll have a psychological melt-down in your presence that you can share with us.
I can see why you've posted in the V-Rod forum. All things equal, it will make things closer but still no cigar for you at the end.
Would note this, for most of us who ride sportbikes the curvesare where it is at, not stop light dragging. Zzzzzz. Any monkey with a right hand can twist the throttle. The chance you have, even with the Dyna, is ifthe course is curvy, you have abundant skill, and the sportbike pilot hasbelow average skills. Tis true. I ride tracks, I take the Ducati on local sportbike club rides, andnot surprisedat the number of riders who can pin it in the straights, then park it in the curves like a grandma. I can hustle the Road King through Colorado curves very well, using the RK torque to hang with and pass most average sportbike riders... but would fade against those with above average skills.
Such fun toboom the Ducati through the curves, but almost just as pleasing, is to go fast on a "slow" bike, surprising those who think they are fast because they are on a fast bike.
Really now, you should just let it go, and save your thoughts for when you hear that he's nothing more that a neon green splat in the road.
Not being cold or assanine, just seems that it's where most of these types end up.[sm=teetertooter.gif]
As far as the race goes - I would do it with my heritage......
But first I would tell him - in order for the race to be fair we need to have the engines equivalent - He should drain his antifreeze then we race......... for 150 miles.
