Nice mark-up
Buyers want to purchase something for as little as possible, while the sellers are at the other extreme.
It's not just limited to companies. Individuals sometimes ask unrealistic amounts for items they are selling, as they would like to make a profit as well.
Here is but one true example.....
I have a business license in the state where I live, allowing me to purchase at 'dealers cost' through many firms.
Not going to give out any specifics, but I recently purchased a number of well known riding glasses that sell like hotcakes for the suggested retail price of $22.95 each.
My cost was $7.50 each, so I'm sure the supplier was purchasing them in 'bulk' for around $3.00 to $4.00 each.
You could put those 'hot selling' glasses on sale for $15.00, and everyone would think they were getting the deal of the century.
While in fact, I would still be making 100% profit on each pair.
It's the same everywhere.
