I keep a photocopy of my registration & insurance card tucked in my wallet behind my license.
Originals in my safe at home.
When the copy gets tattered/wet/washed (ACK!!!) I just make another copy.

Ohh a safe!

What's your address again

I don't even see whats the point in handing over a registration in the first place with all the electronics that police cruisers have now aday's.

I would think that its safer to have the paper work kept at home, and suffice with a license tag, with current year numbers an your license on your person.

I'm sure that by the time the police have you pulled over, I'm sure they think they know from the tag who you should be, and your license can confirm that.

This mentality of "can I see your license and your registration, please" puts all of us back into the dark ages doing all that "routine".

And just how many police want to see your insurance card. We have so many clowns on the roads that don't have ANY insurance and hardly any of them get asked squat! That should be linked "ELECTRONICLY" to your drivers license as well all the states should be holding the insurance industry accountable for providing all the electronic date on those with insurance in that state, then link it all to the police cruiser computer. And make it LAW that if you have a license - YOU HAVE TO HAVE INSURACNE. Or you don't get to keep the license! Period. I don't care if you own a vehicle or not. No insurance = No License. Again PERIOD....

And if someone who is not the person or family to the owner of the tag on the vehicle, then they should get the 21 questions as to, who, what, when, where, and why!

This is the 21st century I thought!

Better yet, put a bar code on everything and every one and just let them scan it. It would be a little more futuristic don't you think? After all its prolly in the works and comming sooner or later.

Well sorry to have ranted a bit, this is just a little sore spot of mine. (ok a big sore spot)

I keep the registration and insurance in the tool roll bag on the softail, and on my soon to be street glide I suppose I will keep it in the velcro pockets of the saddle bag liners.

hehehe...no problem Rhubarb.......just be sure to bring plenty of mirrors for the infrared detectors around the perimeter, padded shoes for the in-ground motion sensors, and a big hunk of prime rib for "Ozzie" and "Jupiter". [:-]
