Never paid attention to that POC gauge before, because of the outrageous high readings it always had. But lo and behold yesterday I was watching it while riding in the 20s and 30s and ... it really is accurate below freezing temps.
I agree. Took the wife up into the AZ White Mountains (8500') last Thursday and watched the temp gauge go down to 30. We were cold but the high heat coming off that 96 inch motor helped keep us somewhat warm (we were colder after getting off the bike for gas). Wife wants a heated seat now. But, yes, the temp gauge seems to work.

It's not accurate in the warmer temperatures because it picks up heat generated by the headlight, since the sensor is located under the faring. I moved the sensor outside and it works accurately in all temperature conditions.
