Default HD's Air Temp Gauge Does Work!!

Never paid attention to that POC gauge before, because of the outrageous high readings it always had. But lo and behold yesterday I was watching it while riding in the 20s and 30s and ... it really is accurate below freezing temps.

Way to go MOCO!!

I agree. Took the wife up into the AZ White Mountains (8500') last Thursday and watched the temp gauge go down to 30. We were cold but the high heat coming off that 96 inch motor helped keep us somewhat warm (we were colder after getting off the bike for gas). Wife wants a heated seat now. But, yes, the temp gauge seems to work.

It's not accurate in the warmer temperatures because it picks up heat generated by the headlight, since the sensor is located under the faring. I moved the sensor outside and it works accurately in all temperature conditions.

Sounds about as accurate as their oil tank gauges.....

We tried 2 of them on the same bike, and the readings were very different. [8D]

Mine seems to be pretty close to air temp after the bike has been moving a while. Way off when stopped.

I'll agree they could have done something much more useful with the space.
