62 years young here. I take an extended every year. By this I mean at least 1500 miles or more.
This spring I am going from NH to Oregon and then down the Pacific Coast Highway. Somewhere along the line I will meet up wth my wife of 34 years and have her enjoy the ride, also.
I have worked my *** off and now do not mind enjoying a little screwing off.
Those of you that are leaving for a trip... Are you going to camp or do motels or both ?
When you do camp, where do you camp at ?
Sleeping under a bridge isn't my idea of camping... LOL
BTW, if I can get my act together, it might be this spring if all goes well, if not, then late summer.
I am entertaining the thought of zig zagging across. maybe do a little route 66. I deninately want to run the out of the way places and come back across the northern western and mid central states.
I sure have..... I'm gonna get my fix this spring with a ride up and back on the Natchez Trace. and I've never riden more than 100 miles at one time. oh - I'll be 59 when I take my "wanderlust" trip.
We were camping last summer with our bikes and on Sat. nite around five in the evening a guy pulled in loaded down with a Yamaha Road Star. He was a 67 year old minister and was going from coast to coast, he told his congregation he would be gone for a month, and this was something he always wanted to do. He was a greatguy, even had a beer with us, after he was set up. He had come from St.Louis that morning and we were in Central Minn., so he had put on some serious miles. He said he was having the time of his life!! He was into his fifth day on the road.
