Disillusion
More then 50 members reviewed my posting in two separate areas (soft tail and Technical) however, I got only one response. (Thanks)
My Disillusion comes in here: If I had posted what sears jack to buy (red or yellow) For you thread highjackers I know yellow is the best buy, or how and when I should wave., however, ask what I thought is simple tech question, and I get complete silent, not even a smiley face, (thanks in advance for the smiley face or any other icon with or without a face.)
Anyone else feel the same?
Folk I’m sorry to say, that I m disappointed with my response to an elementary install question. (Chrome bolts axle kit) on a rear axle.

Or would you rather have me type out 5 paragraphs on the job where I have no idea what the **** I am talking about?
Sometimes a tech post will fall through the cracks and simply get missed.
Sometimes a tech post comes up and no one has messed with whatever the post is about, so they can't answer.
Sometimes a tech post will be one that the solution should be readily apparent to someone with the mechanical aptitude to do the job, so no answer gets posted.
And sometimes no response is forthcoming because of a vast anti-RUB conspiracy.

Seriously, I see many tech posts that would be solved best by simply tearing into something and doing it. Doesn't hurt to ask, but not every tech question is rocket science. If someone has the instructions, or has the service manual, then consulting them should be the first step. If the instructions aren't clear then that should be referenced in the post. I've found that doing it that way will increase the probabliity of a reply.
The number of people on these forums that do most or all of their own work is relatively small. The number of people who do little or nothing except maybe wash & wax is far greater. No one individual has the time to sift through all the posts, even if they were so inclined. Heck, there aren't even enough Moderators to view all the posts, and that's why some things slip through the cracks that ought not.

You ever think more people buys jacks than chrome bolt kits Sherlock?

Most people here have bought Sears jacks .... very few have used them to do work on their bike.
Myself included ... I'm trying, but it's my first bike and I don't have enough money for the tools I would need, let alone the parts I want. But when that time comes, I'll have my RED sears jack ready to go.
