Default Security system

Who is using the security system?
I went out tonight and hit the ignition switch after about 2 months. It is in storage mode apparently.
I have no siren. I started looking in the owners manual and all the info is in there, but its frickin amazing.
Hold this, left, right, etc.
If the fob is lost or broken, replace the module.
I bought it used and dont know if the previous owner set a personal code or not. I guess the first thing I need to do is set my own codein the spring, but I know if the fob fails I will never remember how to disarm it manually.
Is anyone using this system?

The stealer can change the code easy the next time your in for something.

It will be 5 digits and the first one can't be a 0

Try to make the numbers small 'cause if you have to disarm via the blinkers... how many times do you want to hit left 9 times and then the right 9 more times and so on..if your code is 99999. See what I mean?

My pin is easy to enter... i aint tellin what it is... but have you ever heard that song by three dog night? ..."one is the lonliest number... one is the lonliest number...." lol

seriously... if you want to memorize how to do a pin disarm (this a MUST in case the fob is lost or goes defective)... leave the fob home for a week or few... you'll never forget. it doesnt take that long to remember the left blinker is digit button and the right blinker is the enter button... my sequence is simple... 1. ignition 2. both blinkers 3. left-right, left-right, left-right, left-right, left-right 4. fire her up!

changing the pin is a bit more challenging, but you dont have to commit that to memory... just read the manual.

1) The default code is the last five digits of the chassis number. Try this ONCE.
2) The owner's manual has two detachable cards where you can write down your PIN and have the procedure to use it printed on the back. I keep one with my licence and the bike's papers (which I keep in my jacket, NOT on the bike)
3) Choose a PIN it's easy to remember.
4) The dealer can reset it.
