Default Security System Alarm, HELP!

I'm 800 miles from home visiting some friends. This morning when I went to fire up my '07 Ultra the security system would not recognize my fob and the alarm went off. I figured the battery went dead in the fob so I followed the procedure in the manual and replaced it. It still won't recognize the fob and I have to do the manual disarm every time I want to start the bike.
Any suggestion on how to get the system to "see" my fob again? Stupidly I left the spare fob home.
TIA

Do you remember your security code that you put into the bike when you got it? you can start the bike that way...it's a 5 digit code...do a search in this forum...it's in here on how to do it....
If you have not set it, mine was orignally set at 11111....
Check your owner's manual...it's in there on how to do it.
Good luck

yeah, I have that part covered. I am able to start the bike using the manual disarm but I am going to be on the road for a while and don't want to go through that every time if I don't have to.

try the spare but it is a trip to the dealer to get it synced up again.

Did you install the battery correctly?...I had a customer at our shop not long ago with the same problem...He said he installed a new battery in his fob...After checking a few things I found he had installed his battery backwards...Just for the heck of flip the battery over in your fob and see what happens.

While you have the battery out, check it to make sure it's good. Just because it's 'new' doesn't mean it works. I had a remote give me trouble because of this. Drives you nuts when you're troubleshooting.

Thanks for the replies. I am sure the battery is installed correctly. I checked the voltage, it's supposed to be 3 volts it's putting out 3.3 so al is good there. There is a dealer about 90 miles from here (I am in a remote part of northern Arizona), I'll go there Monday or Tuesday. Supposed to head out to a rally in Colorado on Thursday am. Thanks again.... further suggestions more than welcome.

Update on the cure for my problem. It was so simple it was embarrassing. I went to the dealer, the tech listened to my story, took my fob and opened it up in front of me. He took a pen knife and stretched out the spring clips that make electrical contact with the battery then closed it back up. Done... it was working again. I guess those spring clips get squashed down over time or maybe when I dropped the fob.

Anyway, all is cool and I'm back on the road with no worries. Thanks to Grand Canyon HD in Bellemont AZ, they looked at my bike right away when I told them I was on the road away from home and didn't charge me a cent... good folks.
