Do I just not get it?
There are lot of great people here that will help you a ton. And there are more that a few smart a$$es, but it mostly done in fun. I have a Fatboy and love it, but I do miss my sporster. imo the sporster is the most fun harley to drive. Just not built for long trips.
That's a good savings on insurance.I don't wear fingerless gloves, but I agree with the point that it makes picking your nose easier, and anyone that denies picking their nose should be riding a victory.
I do have chaps, and wear them when it's cold or if I might go down, but I don't care for them in the summer, unlessI go to high country and may need them.
I also have electric gear, a jacket liner and gloves, that I wore in 40 degree weather while I rode till 1:30 am this morning. Not cause I'm wimpy, cause I like to be comfortable and enjoy my ride. My first time using them, and the jacket was just nice enough, didn't get over hot at all, but the gloves were lame for being electric. Maybe if I were a bit more macho I'd carry a 55 gallon drum on board and start a fire in it, and stand around it while I ride, like a bum, or just be uncomfortable while I ride...yeah, right. I like being comfy when I ride, and I may even start wearing fingerless gloves, when it warms up, just so I can flick boogers on dumba$$e$

Some guys on here are opinionated, but aren't we all. If you want to keep yours to yourself that's your perogative. If you want toshare em, do what ya gotta do.
I will say this, the more I see idiot drivers that almost run over bike riders, the more I get a 'biker attitude'. If you spend alot of time on a bike around idiots then you start getting tainted. I live2 blocks from a retirement community, AZ is basically snow bird country in winter time, that is old folks everywhere, and you have to watch you a$$ here when they're around, not to mention the irresponsible new generation of drivers that think they'reentittled to act like they're on a race track, and if you're in the way...well ya know.
It's not difficult to develop an attitude with this kind or crap going on everywhere. It shows on here sometimes, and then there are times when someguys have to pound their chest on here cause they will get it pounded by someone else if they voice some of this crap in the wrong, or is it the right bar.
Takes all kinds, just ignore the crap, and if you feel you can ejamacate someone, then just try, or learn to live with what is.
Enjoy the ride, it's free, and doesn't require even a pint offuel, so enjoy. Adios
There are alot of people that will help you on here. The fact that the specialized forums do have folks with experience with that particular bike is undisputed, but you can get some good 'general' information on here, and some good counterpoint arguements also. I like a little devils advocate occasionally, to remind me of what else there is out there.
The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
beats me why people freak on chaps, they do keep bugs off your dockers on the way to the office and fingerless gloves are great for picking your nose when you ride which is also a great excuse for not waving at metric bikes .
