I gerally do not take the bike to stores. But, at Sturgis when I needed more stuff from K-mart in Rapid City, I parked on the sidewalk under the canopy. They were okay with it. Of course they get $ from bikers and are more understanding.[sm=biker.gif][sm=deal.gif][sm=smiley20.gif]
I park in the middle of a spot (less chance of getting hit by doors) and in the front of the spot so cars don't zoom in there thinking it's an empty spot. Personally, I don't thinks motorcycles don't belong on the sidewalks. Even if there is a bike rack. Our front tires usually won't fit in the bars anyway. But seriously, if I were parked on a sidewalk I would worry about a little kid admiring the bike and touch it possibly burning themselves.
I park in regular spots too...but I went to Wal Mart this past weekend and there were 3 or 4 bikes, parked at the end of the aisles in the space that is yellow striped....I never thought of doing that, because I cant park my car there...anyone else park in these spots...is it legal?
I park in parking spots, that's why they are there. Just because you ride a bike or are insecure about leaving your ride outside doesn't give you the right to park like a douchebag. jmho.
Why the hell would you park it, ride through the front door burnin rubber and flip off the Walmart greeter as you pass by (they like it, it shows you really care). Grab your **** as you plow through some inconsiderate asses that park their carts in the middle of the aisle and chuck your Oreo cookies at em. Pay up and ride out.
Whaddya think they put those big *** glass sliding doors in those places for...so your crashbars don't get hung up...sheesh.
I park mine in a parking spot just like I would park my truck. Why would anyone give me a hard time over that?
Park yours next to the curb or take up 2 spots like some rich ******* in a mercedes and I'll personally give you a hard time about it.
when i'm riding alonei park it on the sidewalk/near the entrance in an out of the way spot so as not to block anyone but where cars can't get to it.if i'm with a group of bikes we'll end up taking a few spots in the lot hoping out increased numbers mean increased visibility.
2007fxdc, when i park in a parking lot i almost always take 2 spots if i can get away with it. as soon as people can learn to get out of their cars without giving my cars door dings and quit putting their bags of **** on my hood or trunk while they open their vehicle i'll be happy to only take 1 spot. my cars arn't the nicest cars but i work hard to get them and keep them nice looking so when i come out from somewhere i have a door ding in my truck or my bmw i get a little bent out of shape.
