There are a hell of alot of choices out there. The important thing is that when trying them on that you can move in them. Bend your knees walk around, check the zippers and make sure they are not cheap and that they go up and down with no problem. Also check the belt line to make sure the buckle and straps are not flimsey and cheap. If you find a pair you like and they are to long you can trim the bottom of them to your likeing.make sure they are easy to get out of when you want to remove them. I have the same $79.00 pair of chaps that I have had for 14 years, they still work great. here are so old the the mfg. tag is worn so you cant read it. Just try on alot of pairs you will find one that you like. Good luck

Where can you get some Good chaps for a Good price? Legs get cold while everything else stays fairly warm........

Hey, I got a small suggestion. Do a google and check out all the safety pants out there. Those chaps arn't going to help you much in a colision. No knee protection or butt protection. thats where a lot of the road rash hits. YOUR BUTT.

Had mine custom made in 1977 by "Bates Leathers" in Long Beach, Ca. I still ware them when it gets cold, they have saved my *** too many times to count, in 77 I paid $250.00 to have them made and after 30yrs. of hard use, they are still in good shape, Well worth the price

http://www.chilhowee.net/mens_chaps.html Chilhowee Leather has good stuff for good prices. Thick leather. I had mine taken in around the calf area to give a closer fit so they wouldn't flap around while riding. The lady who did the work commented on the quality & the thickness of the leather.

I wear chaps… mostly when it’s nasty outside, cold <30deg etc…

I do not wear them as a fashion statement and really could care less if someone approves or not. They are functional outerwear ….. At least this is how I view them…

If this is what you need then I suggest:

1. Get a heavy pair, not the cheap boutique crap you find in most stores.
2. Find a good leather shop that can mod them to your specs.
3. Get the supplies you need to take care of the leather (saddle soap, Mink oil, etc). They do take some maintenance as in all things.

True, they are not the best protection you can buy, but they do help.
