Safe Riding. ( What do you do ? )
your problem is with the asshats you've elected into office that has made these laws making everyone pay for other's choices. ...

The other part is a bunch of parasites who seem to think ignoring common sense makes 'em cool (how pathetic is that?) but who at the same time have no problem leeching off the rest of us when they get hurt in the process of "being cool".
i agree with the second part but i think that would be a small percentage of those hurt.
Okay with this wealth of accident statistics and your incredible experience around motorcycles, not to mention your 112/118, oh and your bent frame answer one question. How come 3 days ago you didn't know what 1% meant?

Im sorry my question bothered you to the degree you had to ask me in public rather than on the PM like most would. that in it's self would insinuate you have a hard time believing what I've spoken even though I have already pasted the facts in front of you. that in it's self confuses me. Why would you take the time to post this, when you didn't take the time to read the statistics pasted on my threads ?
To answer your question, it has never came up before. I've never heard anything about 1 %er's. Been riding motorcycles all my life. Just goes to show you. It's never to late to learn. If you have any more questions that might bother you. Please feel free to PM me any time. thanks for the question.
Glad you picked up on That!!! He has been booted twice in the last month from another forum he used to fill UP with nonsense.
**But, since he asked**
I always wear at least a shorty, if I am gonna hit the highway.Backwards thinkin, I know, as most accidents occur in town....but what the hell.
I don't drink (much) and ride.
Ipay VERY close attention to what the morons ahead of me are doing.
In town I stay very close to the speed limit.
I also added lighting to the rear of my bike. The rear turn signals light up with the brake lights. Also, I have after market run/brake/turnsignals in the tour pack. Hopefully that is enuff, as I don't have any plans to add anymore, as folks might mistake it for a Goldwing from the back.
You canonly do so much........if your paranoia requiresyou to spend more time puttingon safety gear, than the ride takes you.....then you might wanna consider another pastime. I have heard that crochet is relatively safe.
I have heard that crochet is relatively safe.
Some people would STILL poke their eyes out and demand more legislation.
... but i think that would be a small percentage of those hurt.
Ya know, I think I'll read what I want and post what I want, if that's ok with you. I will also take the flak for it.No one is stopping anyone here from saying what they have to say. I may go ride my bike with a suit of armor on, you don't know. I just wouldn't tell anyone else they should wear one too. You know why? Cause that would be presuming I'm smarter and know better than everyone else. And because nobody asked me. To me, there is a difference between giving an opinion and giving an unsolicitedlist of things you think are right and are bestowing that wisdom on the less fortunate. That's sermonizing. Since I have the "freedom" to, I'm going to respond cause I feel like it. As far as"its you thatboast so much about freedom of speech".... I don't even know what to say to that. I'll chalk that up to aclumsy choice ofwords.
The peculiar thing about written word is what is called "projection": written word has extremely limited capacity of conveying emotion and therefore complete meaning. We therefore tend to project, or "paint" what's a blank space with OUR OWN emotions, or treat it within our current mood.
The result is that usually what would require two minutes of face to face conversation will last a couple of pages on a forum before we understand each other, and that's not granted. Or that we take offence where no offence was meant.
Neiquette demands that we always remember the PERSON on the other side of the screen, and that we always give the benefit of doubt.
This is why I see no preaching, but just a list of good advice in HarleyForever's post.
BTW, My post wasn't specifically in answer to yours, just after it. It's a general remark.
Easy my friend. Its not the information, its the presentation.
Full on soap box and ram it down your throat. There is good information here, but it just is presented in a matter that will get the reaction it already has. Remember how it was when your Mom told you not to do something?

She'll probably do it to her grave. That's how moms are, I believe.

... wtf is happenin to this place? it's turnin into a pc roundtable ...
Some punk wearing one of them retarded novelty-skid-lids instead of a decent helmet, falling off his bike and grinding half his face down to the bone ... why the hell should I have to (indirectly) pay for his medical bills, since an increase in severe accidents means higher insurance rates for me? If some punk thinks wearing a salad bowl wrapped in leather makes 'im look like a man, that's fine by me - but then he also better be prepared to deal with the consequences by his damn self.
"Freedom" also means that one is ready to accept the consequences of one's actions ... and not to expect the majority of "pussies" to foot the bill for one's own idiocy.
In short, and assuming the chair-farters at the insurance companies had even the tiniest of brains (which of course they don't), they should indeed let people do/wear whatever the f*ck they want to as long as they signed a waiver that clearly states that any and all damages caused by short-bus equipment are the customer's own damn responsibility.
Sort of like ... you think you need to blow down I-95 at 80mph in a T-shirt? Good on you ... by all means, go for it (gotta love Darwinism), but don't come crawling to the insurance company, asking for them to pay for skin grafts.
The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
I like to smoke pot when I'm riding in a bad rain storm. However, I don't think it's for everyone.
me too......i converted an oxygen mask to hold the doob and keep it dry. i'll send ya one

Heres some of my soap box preaching for ya'll-
Never fill your saddlebags with longnecks and ice. The vibration can cause the tops to unscrew,...and beer will leak onto your hot pipes,...causing some hard to remove stains!!!
I highly recommend that everyone use cans only!!! Also,...on soft ground,..you can stomp a can flat, and use it as a kickstand coaster. I think if we all resort to the can method,..the road will be much safer,....and we can pevent many a stained pipe. In addition,...the people riding behind you will really appreciate it too.
Alright, I'll play the devil's advocate for a post or two ... and it sure as hell ain't gonna be PC ...
devil's advocate, ânoun
1. a person who advocates an opposing or unpopular cause for the sake of argument or to expose it to a thorough examination.
And to make it absolutely clear for you ... that helmet down there, hanging from the handle bar in my sig pic ... it's neither DOT nor Snell approved. Fudgepickle.
