Safety is a personal thing that comes mostly with experience. You have to use your brain (don't give Kolni free rent in your fookin brain), if your stupid then you die. The natural order of things, I'm personally ok with that.

Safety is a personal thing until it hurts others. If by you not adhearing to safety rules cost us more in insurance cost, then yea its a public matter. And as a whole, the biker group can get more done than standing alone. WE can walk away and never look back at our brother or we can realize 4600 of our brothers dies every year and almost 23000 get injured. We could put a stop to a lot of this needless carnage by educating bikers and using safety gear.

Didn't you say 25 or so pages back that you were a consultant, or did volunteer work for ABATE, which I assume would be in Texas as you show that as your location.
Have you asked for a meeting with the ABATE organization you work with to present your concerns, and possible solutions to stem the problem?
That might possibily have more of an impact than using an internet forum as a medium, as ABATE officials can actually contact local and state officials with concerns, and possible solutions to issues that impact the motorcycle community.
You might also request to attend one of the regional COC meetings in your area of Texas to give a presentation. COC representatives include officers fromMC's, organizations, and associations within their jurisdictional area, and their attorney's work closely with ABATE and other organizations with concerns and other issues that have a negative impact for everyone on 2-wheels.
I might not agree with all your views, but that doesn't matter. But if you want to actually do something to make a difference, it's going to take more than discussion in a forum, as you need to get your ideas and solutions to organizations that can help to carry the ball forward.....

This may have been said but... You're waaaaayyyyy too uptight about your safety on a bike. If you fear the road that much, you might as well sell your bike because you're not having any fun out there.
