Im going to post some pics I've taken of motorcycle accidents. this is of some prople that wished they would of wore helmets and gloves. THIS IS VERY GRAPHIC

did you ask these peoples permission to use their pictures in a public forum like this?
We've all seen stuff like this before,.......nothing new. Just my thinking though,.....shows pretty poor taste to post these,.......some folks here,....(women,..etc) might not like seeing these.

my personnel preference is the german novelty helmet but I do have a wind shield, used to ride with out either and can't see how I ever rode with out a windsheild ( for about 40 years) now I think anybody who rides should have those bark busters on there bike so the bugs don't hit you in the knuckles they hurt like hell and the should be manditory if you wear fingerless gloves like I do.. and yes you do have to pull out the stinger

You make a good point. I know I had chips in the windshields of every cage I've ever owned. Impact resistant eye protection is most important though.

I have a windshield on my Heritage but I was thinking of taking it off in the summer to catch the breeze. You've reminded me that if I do that I need to think about stones flying up.

I don't know if I could tolerate a full face. Actually when I first got my bike I was certain that's what I'd be getting. But after trying one on I said no way. Then I tried a 3/4 on and again said no way. 1/2 was perfect for me.

But I've read since that once you wear these garbage cans on your head for a couple weeks you get used to them. So I'm going to give them a shot. Probably eventually have one of each. If for nothing else, it'll make riding in the cold alot more comfortable.

It's stillhard to shake the idea thata harley and full face just don't go together. Not sure why.

First off let me say ive worn both full and half helmets, some days when wearing my half I wish I had a full still. Like the rainy commute to work or the days the gravel trucks are in front of me on the 91 freeway.

Seems to me after reading a few threads on different forums I remember why I stay out of the general area because some jackhole is always arguing up a storm, some other jackhole is always preaching about how they are sick of people preaching and telling them what to do. As for the other comments in here kudos for your opinions and input its always cool to read others ideas and go hmm that may work for me or may not.

And deargod Bear you hit the freaking nail on the head with your post man.

I know some of you don't like the look or feel it is uncomfortable, butI was in my truck today on the interstate and a semi way in front of me threw up a rock that cracked my windshield and scared the hell out of me. If this thing was to hit me while riding with a half helmet in the face there's no question I would have went down. Not to metion the better protection from other elements such as wind and rain... and of course the safety benefits, it's not worth it for me not to wear a full face, just got me thinking.
Personally I don’t run a windshield and I wear a novelty helmet. And yes I have taken one of those nasty window cracking rocks to the cheek bone a couple of years ago. Don’t get me wrong it hurt and I could see a goose bump though my sunglasses but, got to my destination + beer and the next morning all I had was a little black eye. No big deal really.
