I have spent as much time in a saddle as I have on a bike. I have worn chaps riding bulls and bucking horses, catching cattle in thick brush and on my HD when it is below 55. The bottom line is that they are suppossed to be worn for protection- briars, mesquite trees, asphalt, bugs or whatever comes at you. That being said, I have seen guys wear them at rallies when its hotter than hell and they damn sure look gay. What's worse is when they wear them at the bar half the night. But I never get tired of the ladies with the thongs and chaps.
Yeah, wearing them when your riding or taking a quick stop........but on another site people were saying that folks would roll up to the HD dealer and get out of an suv totally leather up.......to go shopping?
Yep, wear mine below 50* The first time I wore them into work I had a few women who had never spoken to me say hi and one even said I didn't know you were one of "those" bikers, you don't look like them......hmmmm, just smiled and walked away.
OK, sombody say it.................................I know you are dying to.......................................I'll help with the words.......................guys, chaps, gay, Homo, Village People, ..........................................
Hogwash. I've got better things to do than worry what some bozo has running through his or her perverted mind than if I look gay or not when I'm protecting my hide.
