I am having a similar issue with my bike that I can t figure out. It seems as if my right turn signal will only work when I press my front brake, basically when my brake light comes on. If anybody has any ideas please let me know as I have taken the front bar assembly apart and nothing looks out of the ordinary.
Also, I see the ebay switch, does anybody know the part # or search terms they used to find the ebay switch.
1 more question, has anybody found a equivalent ebay switch for the turn signal also?

'Harley front brake light switch' gets you close. Then read the details to fine tune to yours. Appears to be $8.00 more . Darn inflation in China. Your signal switch and the brake are totally independent. Maybe your switch is just so trashed or wires jammed up in there the lever movement is making the switch contact correctly. Like I said 3 lbs in a 2 lb hole. You need to be gentle with it when you work in there. If I were paying someone to fix it I would use Harley's part. My 3005 above is Harleys' I removed the boot trying to understand what was wrong with it since when mine failed the second time it would work and then it would not.

Great info guys and much appreciate the input, switch on bars is no good but instead of replacing just the switch I'm going to replace both handlebar assemblies. Still have an issue where the tab on the front brake lever is nowhere close to pushing on the brake switch and it does not appear to be adjustable. Wondering if the previous owner switched out the lever and thats why the tab is in the wrong location? Snow on the ground here so looks like I have time to get it sorted!
Thanks guys for all the feedback, finally got the front brake switch assy apart and found one wire not soldered onto the switch. Switch was kaput anyway so replaced it with one I bought on eBay, new one went in and fit like a charm so I have a brake light again!
