Default Full face or open helmet?

I was just curious how many wear open and full faced helmets. I know the open is more popular harley style but wonder how many go against that for extra safety...

I wear a half when temps are about 50 and up. A 3/4 with face shield in winter or bad weather.

Just a warning helmets are not a popular topic here with alot of members. Seems a new thread gets started everyday.

I currently own a half helmet. Initially because I'm a safety conscious person, when I bought my bike I was planning on getting a full face. For my wife too. We tried the full on and it was just too confining, like wearing a dive helmet. Then we tried a 3/4. Same thing. The 1/2 felt just right. I could hear and see good.It was a compromise between safety and comfort.

I have since read accounts by others whosay that after 2-3 weeks you get used to the full faceor 3/4. I don't know if that'strue or not. But I am consideringgetting one or both of them at least forwinter riding, if not for the extra head and face protection they offer.

How about both?

I use a full face in the cold and open face in the summer.

i have a full face, love it, thinking about getting an open one though for this summer.

and please lets not turn this into a major helmet debate! just answer the poll and respect those who wear and dont wear helmets!

Half helmet. Don't like full faces and I wear a fleece face mask when it is cold.

I have a nice HD Carbon Kevlar half, but have been wearing a Scorpion EXO-400 full face since the temps got down below 50 for the morning commute into work. I've gotten to really like it, too. The Scorpions are designed so that you have a better field of vision than lots of other FF helmets. On the weekends, I'll wear the half as the day warms up, and it almost feels uncomfortably exposed.
