Default Good/Small DOT Half Shell? Do they exist?

I need to get a new helmet for this season. Can anyone reccomend a good DOT Half helmet? Im looking for the smallest DOT helmet available. I found a company online by the name of Daytona Helmets. They claim to have the smallest DOT half shell available. Anyone heard of these guys? Are their helmets really that much smaller than everyone elses?Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to everyone.

It hit 61 degrees today in Mass. To bad it rained all day!!!

Advanced carbonfiber ...expensive but small and good quality. Boyds cycle in Salem MA carries them. Great guys to deal with. I don't know if you live near them but they may be able to ship. Where in MA are you? Temps on the northshore were incredible 61deg.

Biker's Choice also offers a line of some "low profile" half helmets that are DOT approved. They are called "Skid Lids" and theyare available in gloss blk, flat blk, chrome or flamed styles and I think they retail for around $55-$60. I saw them in a catalog at dealership, but you could probably pull them up online too. Good luck on your search.

Watch the word skidlid or skid lid, when you're searching. Skidlid refers to helmets that are not DOT. Justablurr is right, Bikers Choice does use that name for a DOT helmet, but almost all others will be non-DOT.

Got a new DOT- German style one today, and I look like a mushroom head. The wife and 3 year old say they won't allow me to wear it. Now that's bad.

I'm sure a lot of them are good, but I haven't seen any that are small. I have 3 that all said they are the "smallest DOT helmet made" but they all make you look like a balloon head. Even the carbon fiber helmets are too big for my taste. I gave up finding one. I just wear a novelty helmet.

I have 3 daytona's. They also make a carbon fiber model. Not any smaller, but lighter. They are DOT and Legal. I should know...I've lost 3 novelty helmets already. If they're not legal here... They won't be anywhere else.
