I love my Harley for what it is,no matter what I would do to it's still a Harley, limited by design and that's why I like it.For the other days I love my Boss Hoss,it's alot cooler than a Jap bike and can smoke the tire from 50 mph,no matter what you ride there is always going to be something faster,I just go with the cool factor, comfortable crusing is why I travel more on my Harley, there's not many places you can cruise at 110 mph all day!

I think you missed your own point. You always wanted a Harley, which we did, too. So we all got one, and now we're proud.

But, we want to go faster, or louder, or shinier, so we open up the wallet and pour some HD-dough into the bike, which always works, and makes us feel better.

I'd shoot myself, if I thought the only way to go fast was on a danged rice burner.........

but why spend such time, effort, and moneyin search of speed, when you could buy a cheap used honda like a 750 magna, that will probably be faster than what you end up with after spending a fortune on Harley engine parts??
As I said, I love my Street Bob, but other than intake/exhaust mods, it seems the bucks should go for appearence and comfort rather than trying to make a Cad fleetwood into a Z-28.
Sorry if I've pi--ed off everyone, but it won't be the first time my mouth's overridden my hummingbird a--.
I guess if we have to explain it you just wouldn't understand it. Every bike I have ever owned (dirt/street),,, metric too,, has not been stock motor or stock appearance,,, I want mine to look good and run good,,, if it's stock it don't rock,,,, on the other hand,,, each to their own.

Speed is relative to the person riding. I don't think Harleys are slow. They're just not as fast as most sport bikes but they're faster than most cars and trucks. HD's are fast enough for me.

for me it's not about crotch rocket speed. it's about being 2 up fully loaded and being able to crack the throttle in top gear and make a pass without a down shift.
