Ok, Ok, rough crowd, and a bunch of wise asses to boot. When some of you generation X, Y or whatever the frock you are get to be my age maybe you'll appreciate anything to reduce vibration when the ole' arthritis sets flares up.[:@]Yup, after a long ride have a hard time feeling my hands. I hate to go over to those Chinese ISO grips but it looks like I may have to.

When DH and I were at the NHRA races last weekend, we saw some really great "gel" gloves that would probably be great for that(sorry, don't remember who made em). I have some arthritis in my hands too. I always put Myoflex on before we leave and have isogrips. It really helps.

But back to your question: I reduced the vibes a lot in my '01 Sporty as follows:
1. Changed bars to a pair of Dyna bars; a little wider for comfort
2. Switched to poly handlebar mounts from the stock rubber
3. Welded about 5" of solid steel rod into the end of each bar (tight fitting)
4. Used the HD "Nostalgia" grips
5. Have a pair of the discontinued HD "Air" gloves (pump up like a running shoe with a little button, they work great but take a bit of getting used to)

BIG difference with those changes; could even use the rear view mirrors at most speeds. No problems now with my "new" bagger lite.

Was a lot smoother than my BSA.....

They'll all get older sooner than they think.

Gloves would work wonders for you. Also, just try changing up the pressure that you apply when riding. You'd be surprised how much it will help by just gripping a little more or a little less every so often. I've also found that thinner grips are better than thick ones for this issue.

Laffing at myself. When I'm riding the pan at nite, look in the mirror. There's lights back there. NOW, I can't tell if it is an 18 wheeler or another sickle, "ALL" I know is there is "something" coming up behind me.
As stated, all the nickels do is reduce the "effects" of the vibration. Same as rubber mounting the motor (have always HATED that term, motors run on electricity, ENGINES run by internal combustion.), Flanders risers, BIG foam grips, any number of ideas over the decades. You can spend a good chunk of change balancing the engine out. Helps a lot, but vibration is going to be an inherent part of the design of an HD V twin. By trial and error, have been able to reduce it tremendously, by finding the "sweet" spot in the RPM, then go to work gearing the primary, trannyand final drive to the speed I want at said RPM. But again, you'll never "eliminate" it.
Weve had this conversation on these forums before
mo·tor /ˈmoʊtər/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[moh-ter] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation –noun 1. a comparatively small and powerful engine, esp. an internal-combustion engine in an automobile, motorboat, or the like. [/align]
So, as you can see, a motor can run on electricity or gasoline.
Thats probably why its

Ford MOTOR company

You get the point.

Point made, and duly noted, IBW. I was going back to my days in the Nuc Navy, and using what we were taught in NucPwrScol. THANK YOU for taking the time, I appreciate that, and indeedy, it is "noted" and "logged in"Thanx, again.
TO ALL, I stand "corrected". [sm=imsorry.gif]. GUMBY
Now, can we get back to the name calling and inuendo?
The key words are "comparatively small". Now, I was an engine man in the navy. A ganger. But those engines them M div. boys played with definitely didnt fit the description of "Comparatively small"
Think of it as the difference between a boat and a ship
