I've heard rumours HD will use the new Buell water cooled engine in a new entry level HD. I'll still believe it when I see it.
Wow! that would be some entry level bike. Sign me up for that, because I'm gonna start over again if that's entry level!

Doesn't matter to me if they go pumper or not...lot's of old pans and shovels still on the street, I'm sure I can keep an air cooled '07 Train going for years to come...

Guys, the 45 degree, pushrod, air cooled, v-twin is the trademark of the company. Why would they stop making the bread and butter or flagship product. Look at the sales, vrod sales are very low.

They entry level Harley with he Buell engine is not the new 1125R engine. It was going to use the 450 engine Buell developed for Motorcross. Buell dropped the plan after final testing, Harley drop the idea too. They still have the engine and they did complete final testing and approval. Might see something in the future.

Anybody see the article in American Iron (April, pg 163) about the scooter, or Scootster as it's apparently "officially"called. They were careful not to name names, but dropped so many hints it's hard to imagine it coming from anywhere else but the MoCo. It will be introduced with a 400cc liquid cooled engine. Maybe that's what all the hype is about?? [sm=icon_quiet.gif]

Yeah we've talked about this before. There has been a rumor for a few years now, that HD was going to build an entry level bike, which makes sense. They are losing a huge chunk of market share to the metrics, with people looking for 1st time bikes or something inexpensive. I'd love to see it happen, if it's built right, we'd sell a ton of them at the shop.

As for water cooled............nope, won't happen any time soon. As was mentioned above, the VRod has been a sales flop - sorry again, I do like the bike - but theyjust aren't selling. The average dealer is only moving between5 to8 VRods a year. So you aren't about to see HD dump a pile of money into something that is already costing them toomuch.

edit: damn typo's
