Default Contact Lens whats the best

Have had contacts for a year now. Is there any brand that works better for riding. I have the Acuvue Advance, Two doctors said these are the best. But this also is the only brand thay stock. Also what about the solution? Help me out' I'm good for only about 250 miles before I need to stop and do a service.

I don't wear glasses or contacts myself, but many guys I know that wear contacts (and put a lot of hard miles on their bikes), swear by the Acuvue Oasys.

(I believe that's the correct spelling, but it's 'Oasys' or something like that).... [8D]

Majority of these folks wear just regular 'riding glasses' with their contacts (no full face helmets or stuff like that), and apparently they prefer the Oasys (sp) over other brands.....

Still trying to find the best contacts, been wearing them for 16 years now lol. As far as solution goes Aquify by Ciba is the best I've ever used hands down.

I do like the O2 optix by CibaI've been wearing for the last two years when riding, probably the best I've ever had when I'm on the bike.

Go to this site http://workingperson.com/brands/1/Ha...n+Eyewear.html
and try the 501 for night and the 502 or 503 for daytime. These are saftey rated, have no distortion, and wrap around close so they act like googles but look better. Awesome price. I can ride all day with these on.

I have had the best luck with Acuvue Advances.
I bought a year supply of 02 Optix and once summer rolled around I had major problems with them and I couldn't wear them all summber so I went back to the advances. During the winter I have been able to wear the 02 Optix but one day about 50 and they hurt my eyes real bad. Almost feels like something is in my eye or chemicals are burning it.
My sister used the oasys and she said they made her vision like she was drunk.

+1 on the Aquify by Ciba. Every time something new comes out I give it a try but end up going back to Aquify. Contacts, on the other hand, are much more difficult to quantify as there are private label versions of major brands that many optometrists recommend. Also, what works well for my eyes and moisture situation may not work for someone else. Your optometrist should have samples of several different types so give 'em a work out and see which works best for you.

My eye doctor says different folks with different needs will do better with different contacts.

But wearing contacts in general on the bike....I wear a full-face but often keep the visor open a notch or two. I never have any issues, but I make a point of putting in some drops when I'm done riding for the day.

Another vote for Ciba, both Night and Day contacts, and the Aquify solution.
