well ladies and gents......thanks for the advice!!!! and the lists! frankly I cant do the mascara, runs in the rain! I did buy a Kuryakyn Full Dresser bag and so far its working great to hold the essentials! With each trip I am figuring on what and what not to pack....with each stop for gas, I have yet another opportunity to pick up more stuff......I am learning that the most memorable rides are the ones less thought out as the journey is so much more fun than the destination, obstacles and all!!!!

If I get a flat, computer problem, EFI problem, belt I can't fix it on the side of the road.

I figure a credit card, your personal stuff, small emergency first aid (carried on in my truck forever all thats been used are the antacids)

I pay for 24 hour roadside assistance through insurance, plus the national hog.

I might learn the hard way, but I just can't see packing 90% of that stuff unless I was on an older bike that has shown its needs before.

Yea, Yea, Yea... all that stuff is good to bring, but I didn't see any of the most important essentials....Emergency kit consisting of: mascara, eyeliner, lipstick, blush, curling iron, hair dryer, hair accessories, lady schick, perfume (no need to bring the jug, the travel size will do), , nail polish (limit 3); Change of clothes: tube top, shorty shorts, chaps, stiletos (these don't pack very good, so you might only be able to fit one or two pairs);colour co-ordinated bandanas, belt (in case you need to put something a little extra on if it gets chilly)

It depends on if you are camping or staying at a hotel. We usually camp so we have our clothes. A few pairs of jean, few t-shirts, a few long sleeve t-shirts, socks & undies and a sweatshirt. You can wash them along the way...don't overpack. Then your basis toiletris...shampoo, toothpaste, etc. Then we have a tent, two chairs, sleeping bag, pillows all strapped onto the bike. Sean brings along basic tools in his tool bag. That's it. That's all you need!

I am thinking before you have a big ride you are going to do an oil change and check the plugs etc. Maybe some basic tools just incase. Leathers should take care of you during the summer, depending on where you are going it probably will not get too cold at anytime, probably be pretty much stopped by night time anyway getting most of your miles in during day light. Make plans and there is probably going to be an HD shop close at many given points along the way. During some stops check the oil etc......especially when there is a HD dealer close. You will probably pick up t's at different locations so, minimize what you start with you may not have enough room to get what you have and the new stuff you get. HC and I have over packed a few times and it is no fun and we are even splitting stuff up on two bikes. Just bought some decent travel bags.....kinda like T-bags but, a different company, Nelson-Rigg, kept them small so we would not over do it. Can get three pairs of jeans, three t-shirts, two long sleeve t's, a sweat shirt, undies, socks, and have room for some new t's or what ever. Then we have roll bags that go on top, can fit all the tolietries in one and whatever else in the other. Still have four saddle bags that are empty at this point for what ever else. Normally I will strap my leather coat and chaps around the travel bag and put the rain cover over and use it as a back rest. Luggage carrier for the tent and chairs, HC puts the sleeping bag and pillows on her luggage rack. We have the two bikes so, it makes it alot easier but, we camp most of the time, one of the reasons we got HC on her own bike. Used to be able to do the same on a Honda 750 Shadow, just strapped everything down alot different
