Went by my local dealer today, Vreeland HD. There was a lack of staff; one sales person instead of the usuall three, one person behind the parts counter, and when I asked about the service manager, who had worked there for years, well he's gone. With the exception of the salesman and the owners all faces were new. These were people who had worked there for years. My spouse felt things have gotten financially tight and the shop could not afford the staff. I don't know the reason, but I wonder if Harley Davidson is hurting?
I talked to a buddy of mine that is the manager at a HD in Indiana last weekend, he said March was one of the best months they have had. He said they have sold a ton of bikes. I think people figure they will be saving money buying a bike due to high gas prices. Hm, let's see buy a $18,000 HD because gas is $3.50 a gallon, that makes sense, dumb asses.
And here I was trying to talk my wife into a 4th Harley for the gas saveings.Man Iam a dumbass, who would of thought the cost of the bike wouldnt make up forthe fuel saveings....[].
Was in the local dealer a few weeks ago and was talking with a salesman, he said they have been selling more bikes this winter than ever before. Which is pretty good since no one could ride them for a few months after buying them due to snow on the ground.
