Default 38 mpg - pretty good?

thats what I average over several fillups. 3 times better than my truck

keep off the throttle you do a little better but won't be as much fun

MY best was 54MPG my worst was 38 MPG, I prob average ABOUT 45

That is about all I get on my 2007 FXDSE, but I do tend to ride in alot of traffic, on the open road I "ASSUME" it gets a little better, but I can't prove it since on the open road I cruise at about 80mph.

I have a stage one on a 88 ci if that makes any difference

My wife's Deluxe gets 47-48...your 38 sounds a little low...

My RK gets 42-45 mpg. It's 95" w/cams and head work..

Take it to a indy with a good dyno and I am willing to bet you will be in the mid 40's....

On my '85, 4 speed, 80 ci, I average about 50-60 mpg.

I am getting about 42mpg on my Heritage on the highway cruising 70 ~75. I have the stage 1 and I am happy with my mileage.

Guess it depends on what you're riding on. The '08 Sportster is supposed to get 50mpg after break in. My '08 Super Glide Custom is about 40mpg, 1200 miles on the clock, Amsoil in all holes, mostly city driving.
