I am a real biker.
I ride every day rain or shine the only time I drive my truck if I need to haul something.
Almost 700,000 miles on bikes so far and that is not counting 40 years of racing.
I do all my own work the last time a dealer worked on one of my bikes was 1970
I ride ATGATT
In my mind I am a biker
Bacon - I was gonna give you some good natured grief about not having a high enough post count to be a "real biker" - and that you don't know your left from right - but - I was distracted by the truth in your signature. Excellent observation.

Yes I am new to this site but not new to bikes.
Started rideing at 10 that was fourty years ago.
First Harley 1978 Low Rider sold it in 1988 with 168,000 miles on it eight more have followed it.
Raced everything from moto x, flat track, road racing, and piloted a Top Gas drag bike for the last 15 years.
I just found this site and hope to be a welcome part it it in the future. But my post count will never be to high, I read a lot more than I post. From my other hangouts Advrider, Ducati Ms and others I have learned most by reading and searching first.

...but I guess I get bent when I see others making fun of guys who may be new to this and wonder why they are giving them crap about how they dress and act. ....
When I hear or read others making fun of the folks who might be new, it makes me wonder if the one's making fun aren't the real "wannebes."
Me? I'm 56. Got my first motorcylce at age 12; have ridden many makes and models over the years; currently own a Wide Glide and an Ultra; I wear what I want to wear; I don't care what others wear or ride. I don't care if I'm calleda "biker" or not. I just like motorcyles.
Well,
How about this view, Not really bout material things, but that feeling you get when your riding and nothing elese matters, (If you get that feeling)
Yourbike has become the most important thing in your life. And in the winter when the season has come to an end you can't wait for the weather
to break so you can squeeze in a ride. I believe it's about the spirit inside, and some show it in different ways.
We are all diffent and it is what it is. As long as that's how you feel, then your a real biker. Milage and all the other bu*! s*&t don't matter
Just the ride
Now if your tring to imatatebeing abad *** then that's a different story....
