i never reallly have worn ear plugs while riding ive always thought about it. i probably should. i might try it out for a couple of rides. to see how it is. i hait the ringing i here after a long ride due to wind noise.
A good case of Tinnitus (ringing in the ears) that never goes away and 50% hearing loss, and you will reconsider ear plugs. My problems are from artillery, but you could do the same damage from wind noise. Nothing is worse than laying in bed hearing ringing that never, evergoes away. Wife thinks that is why I am a little crazy.
Recently started wearing them. Of course it took getting my eardrum perforated while riding in high winds to make me! And it's true, on last ride, I took out the left one and all the sudden it sounded like my engine was pinging and knocking...I heard all these noises and pulled into next gas station and looked all over...nothing was wrong! Except with my hearing!
I wear them sometimes... I have hearing loss from working on naval aircraft for 20+ years.
I mainly wear them for wind noise, still hear my pipes just fine
I use them if I'm target shooting, common sense there...not riding, I feel as tho my ears are full of water...and I have tinnitus, too, and wearing earplugs makes it 10 times worse...

I have shot since I was small and still do and may or may not have hearing damage - probably. I normally do not use them when riding but I carry them. One other helmet that I own seems to resonatea high speed whine (fast electrical-like clicking) in my ears when I wear it (no, its not my wife). Its like I can hear the stater in the dead center of my brain. Weird! So, when I use that helmut (which is rare), I use the plugs.
My ears ring almost continally - But that could be the Viagra!
