Default Night Train review ...

I picked up a 2004 Night Train (Softail) at the border and brought it back to Vancouver this week. 7500 Miles, as new and $11,500 which is a good 5K cheaper than local.

This bike rocks!

Forward controls with 3" extension and the drag bars make for a very different riding position than the Heritage and my weight is over the centre of gravity so corners are a lot more fun. The bike ismostof 200 lbs lighter and seems much faster than the Heritage even though it has never been re-jetted.

The previous owner drilled out the baffles so it runs quiet at idle but has a great deep sound as you open throttle. I like it so for now I will hold off on the Einheart Cross-overs.

The carb is a very different feel than FI being quicker to drop RPM when throttle comes off, (it seemed the Heritage would linger for a moment at high RPM before settling down to idle). I like having the Choke control and idle RPM is lower but not too low.

The seat is cool as it dips and curves much more than the Heritage holding me better. Having my feet so far forward feel great as I used to ride the highway bars all the time but wished I had controls no I get the best of both worlds.

I wouldn't want to ride this bike a thousand miles in a day but for blasting around town ... nothing I have had comes close!

Great Bike! (Now I think I will sell it locally, pick up a nice 5K and buy a 2007 with the motor done).

Cheers, Greg.

Nice review. I think the Night Train is one of the coolest looking Harleys.
