Cooled bike to where I don't worry about sitting at stoplights, no matter how long they are. Lowered the idle a little. Used a tank of regular gas to experiment, pinged at hard throttle climbing a hill in 6th but otherwise ran great. Fuel economy stayed about the same, 40mpg. Better throttle response around town. So far this is the best $100 I've spent on the bike. 07 Heritage now runs cooler than my 99 Heritage did. 45,000 miles on the 99, 12,000 miles on the Heritage. Would I do it again? It would be the first mod I would do to the bike.
I agree with ga.mason. Take a read over in the tech threads. Lots of folks did some homework on them. I decided on installing them on my sporty after reading thru that section. I haven't had a chance to check the MPG yet, but trust me, the low end throttle response is amazing.
I installed the IED instead of the XIED. I am very satisfied with the results. My gas milage actually went up.
I went with the IED instead of the XIED because the O2 response was more linear at the 14.2 value than it was at the 13.8 value as a function of exhaust temperature.
