Hee, hee, I work at a community college and guess what it is still "IN" there. \\; So peeps just think that I am just another student grey beard and all.
I use my North Face back pack every now and then, its nice because it has a waste strap so what way when you take corners the bag does not shift from side to side, it stays put, when the shoulder straps and waste straps are tight you never knew you had it on.
I always used a backpack on my other bikes (before the Dyna there was a Honda Magna, two Yamaha RZ350s, a Yamaha SRX, a Yamaha Seca II, and a Honda Goldwing). \\; It was a great way to carry crap around town. \\; For some reason, the backpack just doesn't seem right on the Harley. \\; Besides, it covers my colors.
I don't really have a choice now since I've changed my bike. I don't want to scratch up my brand new paint job.
I used to have throw-over saddlebages and a T-bag on my sissy bar.
I wear a black leather backpack that matches my black leather jacket and black Fat Boy with currently a solo seat. No problems for me. I wear solely for commuting to and from work to carry my lunch and stuff. If I wanted saddle bags, I would have bought a bagger.
* Money saved on using backpack instead of buying saddle bags and/or sissy bar/luggage rack - a pretty good chunk of change.
* Not caring what people think about me wearing a backpack and riding a Harley - Priceless.
