Default SE engine will be standard?

&nbsp\\;Who else thinks the 1800cc engine of the SE models will eventually become standard for all big twin Harleys?

It won't, but it wouldn't be a bad idea for HD to offer more than one regular production powerplant in the Dynas/Softails/Touring models.

I don't think so either.&nbsp\\; At least not in my life time.&nbsp\\; It took them forever to up the&nbsp\\;74" with the 80".&nbsp\\;
&nbsp\\;
I could be wrong though.&nbsp\\; They have made some changes, faster&nbsp\\;than before, by going with the 88" and then the 96" so quickly.&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; And to keep up with the Jones, a 100" or 110" motor could be on their minds.&nbsp\\; Maybe for their 110th anniversary.&nbsp\\; &nbsp\\;

I think Harley will always offer a choice to those who have the big bucks to spend on a few more cubic inches, hence the Screaming Eagle models.&nbsp\\; There's also more profit in it for them to sell a smaller engine, and then give you engine upgrade options to spend more money on, plus keep their dealer's shop mechanics busy during the winter months installing the upgrades.

I would rather see harley go with an engine similar to the S&S X-wedge rather than making the same old thing bigger. Probably won't happen anytime soon....

I have always thought the HD's were good looking engines. Flat heads were probably the least attractive of the HD's in my opinion. Knuckles, Pans, Evos and Twins are a beauty&nbsp\\;to the eye. The Indian 100 Power Plus with its round cylinder and rocker box cover is a work of art. The S&amp\\;S X Wedge has a short , ugly , almost metric look to it.&nbsp\\;The HD Revolution is not that attractive to me. If HD moves too far from the V-Twin and its looks, it loses it heritage. Just my opinion. quote]ORIGINAL: JeffreyLebowski

88"&nbsp\\; TC came out in 1999.&nbsp\\; It took until 2007 for it to become 96".&nbsp\\; It meets or exceeds EPA until 2010.&nbsp\\; My guess is it won't change until after that.

Geez, I hope not.&nbsp\\; Seems all I read about are problems with that engine.
