hi i just purchased a new 2008 fatbob 3 months ago and the trany went and was replaced under waranty took 1 month and now i have been riding again 1 and half weeks and suddenly today i hear \\; a similar sound i heard before the trany went last time. \\;I am worried and need to know if anyone out there has any ideas on this problem or knows anything about this problem
I haven't heard of any major problems but what kind of sound are you hearing and in what gears? \\; Could this be the helical vs. straight cut gear issue?
the sound im hearing sound kind of like a swooshing or a loud wind tunel . sorey i am trying to figur out how to use the forums i think i may be geting it
I have been reading this forum for 2 years and yours is the first post I have read, about the 6 speed \\;giving anyone trouble \\;The only complaints have been the whining noise that 1st and 5th gear makes.
Tom
When your tranny went the first time what happened? \\; Main problem I've had with my 6 speed is the rattle sound in 5th. (similar to pinging or piston slap sound). \\; Gets worse as the bike warms up. \\; \\; Very annoying but supposedly harmless. \\;
 \\;
I do also get a loud clunking at times when downshifting and neutral is sometimes hard to "find". \\; However since I switched to Spectro 75-140 \\; 6 speed tranny fluid the neutral problem is gone and the shifts are smoother and less clunky. \\; \\; Little or no changed in 5th gear noise.
