I have a sportster with both bags and a windshield - does that make me a bad guy?
The simple fact of the matter is that we have Trade Winds here blowing 20-30MPH several months out of the year and I got tired of getting beat up by the wind. Do the math, if you are riding into a 25MPH wind at 50MPH, that's automatically a 75MPH headwind. Of course, the good news is that you'll have a great tail wind on the way back.
Ride Safe - Ride Smart, and may the wind always be at your back.

Reason: Clarity
I like mine with or without.....
At 58 years old, I could care less what others think of my bike with a windshield.
I have quick dis-connect so I have the best of both worlds.
I like it! A LOT!!!
My Switchback came with a removable windscreen. I rode with it once and hated it. I'll never ride with it again. It is a super huge unaerodynamic parachute. It's not even good for slow coastal rides because it completely blocks every molecule of air that come anywhere near hitting you. Makes it so it's like riding a motorcycle in a bubble.
On the flipside, no windshield makes it very tiresome to ride 90 MPH for long distances. So I installed a Tombstone. This was the answer. The only answer. Blocks the chest blast so I can cruise high speed but still allows air everywhere else. Just like a sportbike windshield.

I rode without a windshield for 16 years so I have nothing to prove to anyone. I've had a windshield on my bike now for 18 years. Yes, it's detachable, but to tell the truth, it only comes off for cleaning, or to work on the front end.
People are going to think whatever they want, and I don't care.
