Sure, but I can only wear sunglasses without a windshield if I stay below 30 MPH. Above that, I can't see squat, so it's huge "over the glasses" goggles or a full face helmet.
I ride with a windshield. Also, a bandana over my face, fingerless gloves, leather vest, flag out the back and a big megaphone with a switch in the on position tied to the end of my straight pipes.

:-) I'm not as cool as either photo, and I wear a FF helmet in any case. But I prefer the look without.
I've got a Memphis Shades bullet fairing for mine for very long motorway rides, but I'm comfortable without up to around 60-70mph for long rides anyway. It's only the 70mph+ motorway blasts for several hours at a time that get very tiring.

No helmet with a face shield option?
I agree with just glasses, my eyes water like crazy but with my helmet/face shield, the wind blows my goatee but never my eyes.
I ride my '13 Roadking with the windshield off most of the time because I like the full wind effect, nothing more than a personal preference, now if I take the wndsheild off I then have to wear my contacts and use the sunglasses with the foam sealing edges, coming in to work today I left the windshield on because I didn't want to deal with the contacts this morning, I wear bi-focal glasses and I hate having to use those cheap reading glasses which I would need here while at the office.

I can't wear glasses either if I'm going above 30. Those over-the-glasses glasses are effective, for me, to about 45 mph. After that, if I don't use a face shield, I wear goggles.
It depends on the glasses. I wear Tifosi cycling glasses and they are designed to cover the entire eye and reroute the airflow. I ride 90MPH with those and no tears. It just all depends on the glasses.
Whichever glasses you choose, make sure they are as close to the face as possible. Any obtrusions make for turbulence. The tighter the fit, the better.
Those goggles with foam in them are horrible. Simply horrible. They are so unaerodynamic and make for nasty tunnel vision.
