chased by dog
Neighbors dog decides it wants to take a piece off my leg tonight. tried kicking him only to pull something in my hip. Anyone have suggestions besides killing it, which I have no problems with at the momment.

Reminds me of the dog that used to chase me on my dirt bike when I was about 18 years old. Wore heavy work boots and would speed up and slow down to confuse the beast and then kick it in the head as I went by. Walloped that thing good about three or four times before it knocked some sense into ME. Went the other way around the block after that just to avoid the stupid dog.

Do you have a leash law in your area? \\; If so, and if the dog is running loose, you can all the local authorities. Also, this may classify the dog as a Dangerous Animal. \\; I'd check with the local authorties.

My neighbor's dog did the same thing. Take your kid's Super Soaker and fill it with lemon juice. After you blast fido in the eyes a few times his Pavlovian response will be to run when he hears a bike.

if this is a regular thing you might go to your local cop shop and get some good pepper spray.

I live at the top of a hill in a very rural area , and there is a stop sign to a major road not 50 feet from my driveway so I could not spped up to stay away from this dog. Also they had just tarred and graveled the road earlier in the day.

The problem here is not the dog it's your neighbor, \\;the dog's owner. Have a word with them first and explain the problem. If they are reasonable people, they will do something about it. \\;If necessary, make them \\;aware that as the dog's owners, \\;they are responsible for the dog's actions and can be made liable for any problems caused by their dog due to their negligence. \\;
