I just completed day number two out of three of the ohio rider training class. I have one more six hour day left, and then I will have my endorsement. Has anyone else on here taken this course? What stories do you have? Those little rebel 250cc bikes are so tiny. It's like a softail wannabe that got shrunk down and had it's ***** removed. But I must say it makes it easier to test on than the 700lb real deal.
A Lot of us will encourage the course, those that dont havent taken it to see what the fuss is all about, once they do they understand. You did the right thing kid!
If I have to explain, you wouldnt understand. Seems appropriate here
Jeff I've got 38yrs of ridein Harleys under my belt and take it from me YOU did the Right thing!! You may never relize all the benifits but you have things in your brain now that some have rode decades and not learned. it's good experience.
Now get yourself a bike and ride it a few weeks while you wait for the Advanced riders motorcycle safety course!! it's one day and you will do all the course work you just did on the lil bikes, but you will do it on YOUR own bike. the figure 8s, the box, the emergency stops in a curve, emergency stops and evade , and all the rest.
Good luck and ride on man
I'm not due to take mine until 10/16/08 up at Honda in Troy, Ohio. So I'm getting all the riding time in as much as I can on my XL1200C. After almost two weeks i'm starting to get alot of confidence in myself. I just might try for my licence on my own but still take the MSF course.
Although I've had an endorsement on my license since the mid 80's when I first started riding I decided to take the course since it's been so lone since I've been on a bike.
I can tell you that I'm am very happy that I did take it. Time and money well spent.
Have to recommend the course to anyone that is thinking of getting on a bike. You'll be glad that you did.
I plan on taking the advance course next year but some time when it's cooler and not in August.
I took the course in the dead of summer in NW Florida, and yeah it was hot. Well worth every penny. We rode 250cc Honda Nighthawks. Great course I would definitely recommend it to everyone.
