Interesting stuff here guys. Like I stated earlier, I was running in very high temps when it happened both times. Caught in stop/go traffic and I know she was running very hot. Thank god I was running syn oil. Anyway, I am very impressed with the performance and mileage so I'll put up with this minor inconvenience til they get it sorted out.
BTW; I thought that doing the stage 1, new pipes and the TMax was supposed to help cool the bike down?
I have had the issue 2 times in 5000 miles. I found the connectors on the ECM were loose or were moving from vibration. I installed some dielectric grease and wire tired the wires so no stress was at the connector. Problem solved. No issue this summer as yet.
Clutch;
Thanks for the tip. I'll check that out as well. sounds like sound advice anyway. I usually grease my connections but didn't want to risk screwing anything up for the $$ I paid for the unit.
Just happened to me. Sweep of the speedo caught my eye and looked down to see it reading 0 with two lights lit up. Continued on and eventually stopped to recycle the key. Came right back to normal. Took 5000 km to show up and I'm running 4.6 firmware at the moment and don't think that 4.8 will fix this glitch, plus I don't want to load 4.8 as I have no way of saving my offsets with basic software. Anyone know if a firmware update will whipe existing offsets, or are they stored elsewhere in the module?

Ok, I have the same issue, except that in addition to the speedo and tach going dead, I have problems with my alarm. sometimes it won't disarm, even with the manual override. Are people sure this is a Tmax issue? One harley tech suggested that I might have a bad TSSM. This has happened a couple of times, usually after riding for a couple of hundred miles. the alarm problem is random and very irritating as it disables the bike and leaves me stuck until it chooses to reset.
I don't have the security so the bike just keeps on a ticking. I don't think this behaviour happens with the stock ecm though. In my case everything worked except the speedo.

Has anyone contacted Zippers? I have not received a reply from them yet. This is enough to make me pull the unit, I can't be stranded somewhere because the bike won't start. I love the zippers unit, bike has not run better, but if it won't start it does not matter how good it runs.
I'll shoot them an email on the same subject. Get enough complaints a fix may happen sooner. Unhappy customers are not good for sales. I usually got replies within a couple of days on previoius questions. See how this one goes.
