Read a lot of threads and diff forums about the TMax and great it is. Took the plunge and installed the TMax. Rode to NYC and while I was in traffic, the engine light starts flashing, then the speedo and tach stop working and battery, oil and security light all come on. The engine was hot and I'm running Syn oil. bu the bike was still running and not skip sparking. Turned the bike off and back on...all came back. Happened again in Philly the next day. Never had a prob before the TMax, anyone else ever heard or seen of this??
I had that happen to me at least twice when I first got it.
That problem seemed to go away by itself, make sure you are running the latest firmware.
I had a tech do some tuning on mine at one of the rallies they were at.
It was caughing at idle really bad (lean) and between 2000-3000 it was very rich. It changed it around and it seems much better. I still get a little caughing at idle but nothing like it was.
Call their tech line, they are very good at trying to help. You will get techs who are better than others so take their name so you don't get the same guy and call back. Some of them are extremely good!
I use to get huge backfires. The tech stayed online while we went through the entire install, setup and a few adjustments...
Not a terribly uncommon issue and I'm not sure Zippers has successfully addressed it yet. It's happened to me 3 times, twice last year and once this spring. More annoying than anything. It has NOT happened since updating firmware several months ago, so my fingers are crossed...

Happened two or three times to me. Recycle the power and it goes away for a couple of months. What firmware are you using? I think 4.8 is the most recent.
Jeesh...got a tmax sittin on the work bench waitin for me to put it on the bike...after hearing about these and other problems, reset this, reload that, dont know if I even want to mess with the dang thing...
Thanks for the replies guys. I wanna make sure it wasn't just my bike. Now I'm gonna make sure the latest firmware is installed and call the techs. Other than that minor glitch I am very impressed with the response and performance.
Happened to me this weekend. I noticed my turn signal did not self cancel and then looked at the speedo and noticed both tach and speedo where dead with all the idiot lights on.
Bike was running great and I was with other bikes and kept on going to the next destination (25 miles). Turn key off and back on and all was okay.
This was only the second time it happened in 8000 miles. Other than the gauges stopping the bike is running fine when it occurs.
I'd buy another I'm that happy with the performance
Happened to me twice since updating to the 4.8 firmware, never happened on the 4.6. According to their tech support, it was just the unit resetting itself and was nothing to worry about.
Both times it happened, I had been running in rpm ranges that were out of the ordinary for me, i.e. extended running above 4000 the first time and actually hitting the rev limit the second.

The T-Max is the best product out there in terms of the performance of the engine; however, the software is wicked complex and difficult to use - IMHO. But, I am puting up with it because the bike runs so well, even if it means ever so often I have to cycle power because the gages went dead.
