It is just another one of those things in riding that you anticipate. Like, anticipate that if you don't put the side stand down, the bike will fall over.

Ya old fart, thats the kind of stuff that happens to us in our "Twilight Years". Join the club!! A few weeks ago I loaded up the bike and realized I was feeling an awful lot of air blowing thru my hair. I reached up to get a feel and about the time I noticed I didn't have my lid on it fell off the back of my bike! WELCOME!
