Default Why did HD drill a hole in my front fender?

Seriously, what's HD's inspiration for drilling holes in everyone's front fenders? I don't like my bikes dressed up, and I have no intention of screwing some piece of chrome to the bottom of my fender.

My old sporty & now my softail have it, all my buddies Harley's have holes there, what gives?!?

If you mean the hole on the back of the front fender, it's for the fall away test. See your owner's manual.

Go to a local old fashioned hardware store and pick up a little chrome snap in "hubcap" for a dollar. I believe that it is size #8. Looks great. Sorry I don't have a pic.

The hole is for a mud flap. The HD mud flaps are butt ugly.

You will when your front end gets sloppy feeling or you go into a high speed tank slapper! It's the test to determine whether your neck bearings are set correctly.
