Your right. Ya know, I don't have alot of money but I'm financially stable in my life. I went to look at the Street Bob and left with the damn Rocker C. I told my wife I was gonna get something for about 14k to 16k and that was what was in my prospective budget. After spending hours at the dealership I quickly moved away from the Dyna's and MADE my budget work with the Rocker... I'm sure when it comes down to it I'll leave with the Ultra.
I wish I could afford to keep my rocker and buy another bike. I love that bike. It handles so damn good. I know I'll miss that SOB when I get rid of it.
any touring seat ive found will fit on another touring bike. I'm not sure about the 09s, but I'd bet thats the case too. Theyre like old chevy's, the parts for the most part interchange.
1997 to 2007 all the Touring seats are compatible. Starting in 2008 HD redesigned the seats so prior years will not fit..different mounting hardware.
I traded my sportster in on a 08 Road king a month ago. One of the best things i have ever done. I say go with the RK and use the extra money to do it up as you like.
Rent a few different models for the weekend and give what you think might work for you a try if the HD dealer isn't going to let you test ride any.
My neighbor owns 2 bikes, none are built for a passenger so every few months I see him with a rented bike and they are off for a cruse.
