I bought a ROCKER C several months ago. Always wanted a Harley and finally able to have one. I love the bike. I bought it after trying to decide on what to get. My wife, who told me she would never EVER get on it, told me I might as well get one with a solo seat. Of course I wanted the Corvette of Harley's and in my eyes that was it.
Well, after several months of riding and some peer pressure applied to my wife by our friends and I, she got on it and rode a few times. HOOK LINE AND SINKER!!!!!
Now I have a bar hopper and that doesn't meet my needs anymore. I forgot how much I loved to ride as its been several years since I owned a bike.
I'm looking at getting rid of the Rocker and stepping up to a touring. I really don't want much extra cost but I also want the comforts of the Ultra. Should I spend the money on an Ultra or do they make a real comfortable aftermarket seat for a Road King for long travels for both me and my wife.
Like I said I would really love to get the Ultra but I don't want to spend that much money and would spend a few extra bucks on upgrading a Road King if practical.
Just want my wife to be comfortable so we can travel with our friends.
any touring seat ive found will fit on another touring bike. I'm not sure about the 09s, but I'd bet thats the case too. Theyre like old chevy's, the parts for the most part interchange.
Thats great! Its nice sharing a nice ride with someone special....too bad you will likely be takin a hit on a t/i. If you are fond of a softail, you otta try a Heritage. I've put many a mile on mine with a ladyfriend on the back.
Hello glades250, It will be very difficult to give a recommendation on a specific bike, according to your personal needs. Harley Davidson has way to many options. However, if I were you, I would do my homework, (educate yourself ) go to your local dealer and shop, shop and ask a lot of question. If you have more than one dealer, go there and ask questions and get their opinion. Also, ask specific question on this forum, so you can get a direct answer. When you generalize, you get too many opinions. Does that make sense?
Hope this helps, paul
Could you get a test ride on both models with your good lady on the back. You could both have a feel for the bike that suits you both. I,d bet theres a seat that suits for either model so get the bike you prefer. After buying the Rocker your dealer should be willing.
Hope things pan out for you both.

Thanks for everyones response. I do plan on putting her on the back of a couple of different ones. I hope to sell my bike personally so I don't have to trade in. There seems to be a demand for the Rocker in Florida as they are hard to get. When I got mine, I got such a good deal on it when no one else would budge off the price. I drove four hours to get it but a friend of mine had a good connection with Ocala Harley and no one wanted to compete with the price.
I would love to get the Ultra but I can get all I need with a Road King and save a couple grand. I guess I'm looking for more comfortable long distance seating for two to replace the stock seat if I go with the RK. Plus it will leave me a little extra money to personalize the bike.
But for the time being, I'm laid up with a fractured knee and won't be able to ride for several weeks. I'm already going through withdrawals. I kick myself in the *** for waiting so long to break down and buy a bike. I forgot how much I love to ride. And now that my wife has overcome her fear, I'm real excited to get a new bike so she too can enjoy the fun, freedom and all the great people I meet when I ride.
