Best Food on a Road Trip
Rule 1: The place can not be a major franchise. It's okay if the place has a 2nd or 3rd spot in the local market, but we don't want anything that is "cut and paste" dining.
Rule 2: Joints are better than Fancy. It should be a place a rider on a trip can feel at home.
Rule 3: When possible name the place and the plate that made you like it.
Rule 4: Topless Waitresses get a bonus of 5 points.
I'll start ...
Best spot ... Leo's BBQ in Oklahoma City.
2nd Best Spot ... White Palace Grill in Chicago, IL.
Best Hot Dog on the Road (so far) ... Rutt's Hut in Clifton, NJ -- Deep Fried Hot Dogs ... oh my!

My first spot would have to be Primanti's in Pittsburgh. People in the burgh dont f*ck around. Whatever you order has saurkraut and your fries built right into the sandwich.
2nd favorite is the Snow Cap in Seligman Arizona. Whenever im down there, I time my lunches to eat there. for the last 20 years, they make the best burger I've ever had.
3rd Favorite would be Harolds In cave Creek Arizona. Food shmood, gimme a Guinness on tap an and Iron City beer... one for each fat little hand. Sandwich in every can etc etc.
An honorable mention: Theres a buffalos right next to zion harley that makes great hot wings. The hot hot ones make your head sweat, I don't know If ive ever had hotter.

I have a place in mind, but it is not near you. It is down on the Gulf Coast in a small town called Ocean Springs, MS The place is called "The Shed" It's BBQ Ribs are probably the best I have found. Real laid back atmosphere. Even has Blues playing outside on Friday and saturday nights. It is not topless serving or I would still be there.
The Shed was featured on the Fod Network on "Diners, Drive-Inns, and Dices"

Leo's BBQ in OKC was mentioned above.
Another OK BBQ that gets aclaim around these parts (eastern OK) is "Wild Horse BBQ". It will qualify as being a "joint", for sure. Many so-called "famous" people have eaten there and left autographed pics on the wall. "Wild Horse BBQ" is about 2 miles south of Sallisaw, OK on Hwy 59. Take exit 308 at Sallisaw.
Another place with excellent food is "Bubba's BBQ" in Eureka Springs, AR. We made a 288 mile round trip aboard the Deuce to eat there last Saturday!
When Deucing, we enjoy eating at "joints" too, as opposed to franchise places.
