Default Cleaning black wheels- some help?

I have spoke wheels and the rims are gloss black. I don't know if they are powdercoated or paint. But they looked stained from brake dust.
What could I use to get them clean?

...followed by detail spray or wax, if you are ambitious (and want to keep them looking good and clean).

I usually hose the bike down with water first then spray on the Simple Green Max, wait approx 1 minute and finally hose it all off again... seems to dilute enough to not damage anything.

+1 on the simple green... just rinse it well and then follow with "Wheel Guard" (AWESOME stuff)... you'll never use anything else... after that, you can take the brake dust off with your hand and water... seriously.

Yea Simple Green should work very well but like everyone else said you have to dilute that stuff, because that stuff by itself can get very very nasty. If i remember reading it right i think its supposed to be 10 cups water to 1 cup of Simple green, something like that
