From the Barnett website------>"many people buy the bikes and turn around and sell them for a profit. Purchasing bikes this way means our prices are way over retail. We pay over retail plus tax for almost all of them."
Upon reading this I figured they would, at least, be competitive when it came to trade-in value so I sent an email inquiring about the possibility.
This is an excerpt from the response that I received from Barnett, which I cut and pasted from the original email, about how much they were willing to pay...."If it is a good deal to us where we can make a profit and cover overhead - we will buy it. Remember - we are a dealer and typically buy at dealer wholesale."
Sounds a bit contradictory to me. What do ya'll think?
Sounds like they have a stock answer for every question we might ask. Based on whatever they think we need to hear.
I can't imagine their finance rates are such that they can afford to buy bikes at "way over retail" (c'mon, what dealer ever gave anyone "way over retail" for their bike?) and still have a willing market.
Want a great place to buy a Harley in Texas? Red River Harley Davidson in Iowa Park (near Wichita Falls). EVERYONE there treats you like a customer should be treated - with respect. I went there on a recommendation from others in DFW and its something I will never regret. Talk to Dan and tell him I said to call them....their website is www.rrhd.com. You won't find a better dealer!
