I bought a new jacket. $365. plus tax The second time I wore it the zipper broke. OK, **** happens, No big deal, I'll return it. Today I drive 80 miles one way to Ozark Harley in Lebanon, Missouri. Walk in tell them the deal and that I just want to exchange it. They would'nt do it. They tell me they have to ship it off and it will be 10 days. Let me talk to the manager... Still no deal... It's freakin cold here and I need a jacket. I'm a buis. owner and if it was my customer I would have given them a new jacket in a heart beat even if I had to eat it.. simply because I know I'll get it back in future sales.. I left with the jacket and will try to find someone who can fix the zipper.. Where do I go? I get home and I'm still pissed so I call Harley and they basicly tell me to freakin bad.. Send it in and we'll fix it in 10 days other wise go get it fixed your damn self.. I wore it two freakin times... If we go to Wal Mart or the local mall and buy something and have a problem we take it back, they give us a new one and we continue to do buis. in the future. F*CK Ozark Harley I'll never walk in that place again, and F*CK Harley motor cloths.
It's cold out and I need a jacket.
Sorry about the rant.
Go to a shoe maker and see if they an do it. I wear a Scott NYC leather tht I've had for 6 years and when the zipper broke last year I had it replaced at the shoe maker across the stret. He charger $95 bucks, but it was worth it. I agree that the dealer should have eatin' it, but they have now lost a customer, right? We just gotta remember that all of these people who treat us like crap will get it back in Karma somehow. It is a fact.
I feel your pain brother, Keep givin them hell. Send it in and stil give more hell. Tell them you are on a new campaine to let the world know how crappy thier product line is. Really rub it in their face.
I bought 2 light weight jackets about 2years ago. One for me and one for the wife. I walked out to my bike in the parking lot, put on my new jacket, and the zipper broke. They didn't have another jacket but said they could have it fixed. I said no and got all my money back instead. Maybe you should have insisted on getting your money back.
BEar in mind that when you deal with the dealers, you're not always dealing with another biker. Sometimes, you need to talk to the people who are there, and find out who rides and who don't. If you walk into the place, and it don't look like anyone has ever been in the saddle before, they probably won't understand you. OTOH, you walk in, see tats, doo rags, and apes on the emploees bikes, it's gonna be easier to explain what time it is. Some people are only in it for the money. Not surprised that HD Moco won't second guess the dealer, but if the dealer was on your side, they would have backed him up there as well. Sometimes, it's about who you deal with. I don't trust a dealer when I go outside and see nothing but Jap iron in the employee lot, and neither should you. Some people just don't get it. Don't mean that all dealers, or the moco, is necessarily bad.
I feel your pain. They should have done right by you. They didn't. Find another dealer. Or deal locally.

As a buis. owner I'm sure you've heard this too,
A satisfied customer will share their experience with and average of 3 others,
a dissatisfied customer will share theirs with an average of 11,...............
How many did you just tell?? Don't let them forget ya!!

Had a zipper repaired at my local shoe guy and it was only $20. Some will do it inhouse ($20 guy) others will take it and send it out and then bump the price ($95 guy maybe).
In any event call around for a price or two.
As for the dealer, you are 100% justified in being pissed. If my local dealer can sell these jackets at 50% off at their twice yearly sales you have to know he can eat one occasionally. At the very least they should have done the smart thing after having realized you did not want to wait the 10 days and offered some sort of token partial refund to defray the cost of having it repaired yourself.
Some peeps just don't get it.
Have a beer on me and try not to let these schmucks inhabit your emotions.
