Inputting a simple code and keeping the card in my billfold is about as easy as it gets. I have used my code three times to unlock the security system. Twice over battery failure and once over key fob failure. Only takes a minute to put in a code and it is easy to use.
I guess this is a new fangled thing. My two bikes are 1991 and 2001 and I don't know what the h-ll you're all talking about. The best security is theft coverage. This way if the bike gets stolen you can get a new bike!!!
Factory default is indeed 11111. Problem we occasionally run into over here is interference from clusters of gsm transmission antennas. Parking near buildings, like police stations, government offices, military posts or, even some gas stations, with lots of masts sticking up out of them can block the alarm. Several times I've had to push the bike a few yards with the alarm blazing away before it would start again. Dealers will even warn you that the service stations along tollways in France are particularly bad
