Default Putting in your personal code?

I finally got around to reading the instructions on how to put in your personal code, so you can use the turn signals to disable the security system.
I had mistakenly thought that you needed to know the code that was already in place. In case the factory or previous owner had installed one.
Figure I will give it a try after I come back from a run this weekend.

Has anyone had any problems putting in their code?

I finally got around to replacing the batteries in my key fobs. My concern was that I would set the security on the bike when I went in somewhere and the battery wouldn't have enough charge to disarm the system when I was ready to leave.
I didn't realize that all you had to do was change the battery and the fob would keep working. I thought that once you changed batteries you had to re-sync the fob to the security system.

Oh yea, I had a problem!!

I'm down in Mexico. We're at an HD Rally. Some friends and I go into a restaurant for dinner, I turn on my security system with the fob before going in.

When I come out, no matter what I do it will not release!! But I do remember the dealer telling me some secret way to unlock it. So I go into the restaurant and around where there are hundreds of harley riders, and not one knows the secret!! Good secret!

I try going and getting my other fob. Nope. Now were there for about 3 hours trying to figure this out. Now I'm looking for someone with a trailer that can haul her back to the U.S.!! I get on her one more time and start again with the turn signals, and bam...I hit the magic number, cus I saw it blink a bunch and I hit the fob fast to unlock it!!

Whew...I don't ever want to experience that again, so I never use it anymore! I just lock the fork. All it does is make your headlights blink anyway. What good does that do if I'm where I can't see it!

And I do know the secret now!! And I'd tell ya, but then they'd lock me up in HD jail!!

I never use mine either. Like angry turn signals flashing is going to really stop anyone more than locking the fork. I won't make it too easy for them, but if you're out somewhere and they really want it; they can get it.

My system came with the siren, so if I'm within ear shot it should get my attention. If some cage bumps into the bike, while I am parked some where, the siren will go off, which might also help.
I realize it definitely isn't fool proof, but every little thing helps.

On mine........ if both wheels come off the ground for 3 seconds........... it explodes!

Gotta be careful not to catch too much air.
