HELP..front forks look like crap

Default HELP..front forks look like crap
The front forks on my 04 Heritage look like "crap"...I just can't afford chrome replacements...I've tried boo coo items with poor results....I believe it's a original Harley finish of some kind....

That original harley finish is called "cheap and ugly". They make them that way so that you have to replace with chrome or black...

the standard brushed aluminum has a clear coat finish that makes it difficult to clean and impossible to polish least it does on mine

Agree with JKK. I just replaced mine with chrome. You can find some really good deals on ebay for the whole kit...sellers id is high plains or something like that.

Best suggestion is buy a new pair on eBay. I see them listed all the time $50-75. Usually they are take off parts as in the case when somebody buys a chome set.

Mine look like crap too, they have been on the bike since 1991..
Guess I just kinda got use to them.

Take the clear coat off with paint remover and polish them.......I prefer the look to chrome. Did mine in 1985 and once a month i give them a quick polish
