Default LED light kits

Lately I have had several recomendations to put a LED light kit on my Wide Glide. I have put a lot of chrome on it and the accent lights should look good I am told.

I have been reluctant to put these on my bike because I seldom ride at night and I kinda think thay are cheezy.

To those who have them, would you do it again?

Are all LED light kits created equal?

Thanks,

Mark

I put some red ones on my Heritage. They look cool and were easy to install (I am NOT a mechanic) But I seldom ride at night and they are not legal to use while moving so I think it was a bit of a waste.

We have yellow LED's on our Duece. I like them. I think it looks awesome especially when she's all polished up. They light up the engine and the front and back rims and they even add to the look during the day, though the effect is not as dramatic.

I want Dave to put a clear set on our black Ultra, because I would like to show it off a bit. Plus here in NJ I haven't heard or seen anything about them being illegal while moving. I think it would add to the visibility of the bike especially at night, and how could that be a bad thing? Please, if someone knows if that's true or not let me know.

As for all sets being equal, I know some sets have just one setting, others have multiple settings, where they can be on steady or flash like Christmas lights. I've also seen sets that flash multiple colors. I like them to be steady on or off completely. I don't care for the flashers. I wouldn't know about the quality of different brands. Seems like there couldn't be too much difference in quality though.

In Illinois, I don't think having the lights would be illegal if they were the right color (probably amber). Having any type of blue light on a vehicle is illegal, as is having red lights facing forward.

In New Hampster it is considered excessive illumination and you will be making a contribution to the bolicemans ball. But if you drive truck and put 454 lights down the side of your sleeper , across the west coast bumper, across the frame, up and all around the trailer and then run two 145 amp alternators to power a small city that is 'cool'......go figure.

Your talkin about a Rooster Cruiser if its a big truck! Some of them drivers put thousands of dollars in LED's on those rigs. As far as on a bike....good for dress up night I guess, personally don't care for them. They do look good in the shows on some of those bikes.

Florida Joes on Ebay came highly recommended from other forum members. I put a kit on my Wide Glide, for a fraction of what Kuryakyn and HD lights were....I have 3 hrs and $25 invested in my kit. He's got a life time warranty on his, and ships SUPER fast.

Yeah, go with Joe Florida's LED light kits. Very reasonable, very easy to install, can combine individual lights with pods and they look great. I've got a set of purple on my black and white Deluxe. Love 'em.
